How Are You Ending Your 2015?

For some, 2015 has been the best year so far, for some others, it has been the worst year, and for some still, 2015 has just been there. Well, no matter how you choose to describe your 2015, much more importantly is how you choose to end it. It is very possible that you might not have been able to achieve some of your 2015 resolutions, fine, but what steps have you taken to rectify your shortcomings? For instance, prior to the start of the year 2015, I made a resolution to read through my Bible at least once this year. As it were, I couldn't even read half the Bible, hey! Don't be that much surprised, I'm as human as you are. I also have a group of friends, whose resolution was to become size 10 (as in a weight loss program). They are around size 14 now though. So, what's the moral of the story? You may have had your big list in January, and none of them may have materialized, no problem. "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in ...

What You Don't Know About Being A Pastor's Wife

This post is dedicated to all single Christian ladies who do not want to be a Pastor's wife, lol. How do I even begin this write up? Ok, well, here's the gist. After I became genuinely born again, members of my fellowship started to prophecy into my life, saying that I am going to be a Pastor's wife and stuff. Initially, I was like "really? You guys must be joking!". But as time advanced, I just found out that if I am going to keep standing for Christ and get stronger in the Faith, then there is need for me to marry someone who is more Spiritual than I am. I mean, you are a Christian lady, you cannot afford to spend the rest of your life with someone who wouldn't mind not praying or not reading his Bible for weeks. How do you intend coping with that sweetie? Let me tell you, I grew up having my mum lead prayers in the home whilst my dad enjoyed his sleep, and it wasn't something I was ever happy about (I'll tell you more about it some other time). ...

Sexting; Matters Arising

So, yesterday I talked on sexting, and boom! I got feedbacks from friends. A friend pointed out that there is nothing wrong if lovers engage themselves in a sex chat, and asides that, it fosters long distance relationship. Well, yea, I agree. The idea of sexting really is to help couples who live far apart from each other, you know, remember themselves in the light of their sexuality. So yes, for couples who are joined together in Holy Matrimony, that is marriage, I believe you can sex chat. However, my emphasis is not on the married, it's on the single Christians, and what makes me sick is the fact that the single and unmarried are those whom are actively sexting. I'm quite surprised that some of you guys don't quite agree that sexting is bad for the  unmarried Christian . Obviously, there is an underlying issue somewhere, I mean, a Christian born of the water and the Spirit do not make an habit of sin. 1John 3:9 "No one who is born of God will continue to sin, ...

When Chatting Becomes Sexting; Christians Beware!

SEXTING is sending and receiving sexually explicit messages, primarily between mobile phones. (Source: Wikipedia). This is twenty first century (I know you know), and chatting is just like drinking coffee. I mean chatting is an integral part of almost everyone now, you know, you get to talk with someone at about the rate of the speed of light, if I'm not mistaken (Pardon me, my Physics was quite poor). You know what I'm saying? It is so integral that my mom in her late forties chats like two-four-seven, as in, only God knows! I guess I have established a point now right? We all chat, could be via Whatsapp, BBM, 2go, Eskimi, Facebook, Twitter, hey! the list is endless, and so on please, thank you. Now to "SEXTING". Actually, I used to chat with different categories of people when I was in high school and I had no idea what sexting was all about. Then, after I got into college, I quit the serious chats for a while due to some academic and ethical reasons. However,...

Business Minded People And Jesus; 5 Important Lessons

"Mama, I wanna be self employed, I wanna make money, do business, and also serve the Lord with all that I am." Actually, this is the mind of many, several, and lots of Christians. Many of we Christians want to be rich and wealthy like king Solomon, yea, right? At the same time, we want to be enthusiastic for God like our dearly beloved Apostle Paul. While these two concessions may be pure and innocent, there are these five basic things we need to acquaint ourselves with. So, if the above speech is somewhere in your mind, please read on. 1. JESUS IS INTERESTED IN YOUR BUSINESS. Romans 12:11 "Not slotful in business, fervent in Spirit, serving the Lord." If I'm correct, business comes first before being fervent in this verse, which means, God desires that you are up and doing. So, you don't need to disengage God when it comes to your business, He is interested in whatever it is that your hands have found doing. Your business could be that you work as a jan...

IMAGINE THIS....

I got this very thoughtful message from a friend, and since you guys here are my friends too, I want you to read it. Imagine you are in a christening ceremony, and the time comes to christen the child. The Pastor then asks the parents of the child to bring him forward to be christened, but instead, the parents and family start looking at one another confused and all searching for the child! All of a sudden, the father of the child announces that the baby has gone missing. Then you ask yourself, "Of what meaning and importance is a christening ceremony without the child to be named?" Imagine how disorganized and catastrophic that christening ceremony would be.... But my dear that is exactly how your Christmas this year would be if Christ is missing in your life. Let him dwell in you by opening the door of your heart to him today, tomorrow maybe too late. MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Have You Met With God Yet Today?

So, have you had your quiet moment with God today? Have you taken the time out to hear God speak to you? If you haven't, please do so now.

What Every Single Lady Needs To Know!

For the record, I, I mean myself ain't no marriage counselor, simply because I'm not married (yet), so I naturally can't give cues on what I really don't know how it feels like. But, I have the greatest counselor anyone can ever have living inside of me, The Holy Spirit. With Him, you can trust me to give you good counsel. So, let's move on to what I have to share today. A lady met me, told me the dilemma she's currently in and so, I'm putting it up here for us to also learn from her (with her permission of course). Her voice "I met this guy via a Christian forum, we're both Christians, we just started seeing each other and nothing is going on yet. But with the way things are now, if he takes a step closer to me, I see myself caving in already. I've talked to God about him, and I heard Him say "No, that's not the man I want you to spend the rest of your life with". But he's everything I wished my husband would be, he meets al...

That Time Of The Year Again!

It's that time of the year again, where you begin to feel dissatisfied with yourself and your little or no achievements. I'm talking about that moment you try to analyze what you have been able to do with your life, and what you haven't. As a matter of fact, if we are not very careful, we might end up jeopardizing Christmas for ourselves. Fine, you may have had several resolutions when the year started, but due to some unavoidable barriers, little was achieved. Still, that shouldn't make you think low of yourself for you have been fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Moreover, all things work together for the good of those that love God and the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:18). So, believe you me, everything that you were not able to make, and that which you were able to do, are all for your good as long as you love God, and are walking in His purpose for you. For me, there are several things I wished and prayed for, but didn't get, not be...

Please Learn To Be Kind

Today, something occurred to me, and I figured I've not been a kind person, not at all. I know I'm somehow strict, but then, I've also been unkind, which is not Jesus-like in any way. Here's the gist, in my school, all Christian students of every particular class gather once each week for class prayers. And so, for my class, we gathered as usual today, and when the time came for sharing of testimonies, a class mate (name withheld), whom I've never seen attend the class prayer stepped out to share her testimony. Like almost everyone, I thought "oh, thank God she came today, what does she have to say now?". Actually, this lady is quite the least you would take as serious in the class, from her mode of dressing to her manner of speech, she just appears to be, do I say lackadaisical now? Well, she's just someone I would not like to call a friend. Now to her testimony. According to her, she has been battling with a kidney infection for five solid years ...

3 Reasons For A Man's Unfaithfulness

Previously, I made a post on the need to guard one's heart. However, God told me that it's just one of the several reasons men and women often become unfaithful to their spouses. Nevertheless, I wouldn't want us to relate with this issue on marital basis alone. Unfaithfulness occurs almost in any institution, be it financial, academic, etc. So, now, under God, I would tell us 3 more causes of unfaithfulness. 1. Lack of The Fear of God: As the Book of Proverbs has rightly said, "The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom" Proverbs 9:10. Being faithful in all, as it were, requires wisdom, and wisdom without the fear of God is foolishness. Even when you do not fear anyone, or when it seems as though nobody would see your unfaithful actions, God is there. Joseph had the fear of God in Him, and he was faithful (Genesis 39). So, if you have been having issues with being faithful with your church account, to be honest with you, you do not fear God. Repent now! 2. Lac...

Didn't The Lord Make You One With Your Wife?

I was going through my bible yesterday morning, and I came across Malachi 2:15, that says, "Didn't the Lord make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his. And what does He want? Godly children from your union. So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth." NLT. And I was like "wow!" So God is aware of the fact that there is a tendency for a married man or one who's engaged to suddenly become in love with another person other than his partner. Up, until now, I used to wonder why married men and women cheat on their spouses, and why out of nowhere, they become attracted to someone else. The reason is just simple, it is because they have failed to guard their hearts. For a woman especially, it is very much easier to become attracted to someone that ain't their partner. Well, the Bible says in Proverbs 4:23 "Guard your heart above all else for out of it flows the issues of life". For you who have found your better h...

My What Next After Meeting Jesus Experience- Joe

As part of making us learn of Christ from one another, there is an opportunity for you to share your experiences after meeting Jesus. So, here is the very first what next after meeting Jesus experience by a fellow, named Joe (other names withheld). Read below. Greetings unto everyone in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. My name is Joe and I'm happy to be sharing my what next after meeting Jesus experience with you. For me, meeting Jesus was quite a shock to even I myself, I met Him just as I finished high school. I happened to be in a church service one day, and God arrested me, and up till this moment, I still cannot explain how or why it happened. I used to steal, not like I used guns, I was more of a burglar, sneaked into people's shops and homes when they weren't around to take whatever my hands could find. After meeting Jesus, I came to the understanding that I needed to restitute my ways, and give back whatever I have acquired by false means. This was a very big ...

10 Verses You Need To Constantly Remind Yourself

Earlier today, I stumbled upon a verse in the Bible, and it felt strange even though I'd already read it sometimes before. There are times when I go through some challenges, and out of no where I come across a verse that I might have read long ago. And then, I thought to myself, if only I had made myself very much acquainted with that verse, I wouldn't have had that challenge in the first place. So, here are just ten out of the numerous verses of the Bible that we need to constantly remind ourselves, and get familiar with. 1. Matthew 6:25- That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life- whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn't life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 2. Colossians 3:13- Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 3. Matthew 5:13- You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its fl...

5 Questions You Need To Answer Before Going On Any Date

Date: A romantic or social appointment (Oxford Dictionary). To be honest, this just concluded week has tabled matters of love and date before me, and I assume many of you guys had similar issues too. Thus, I have for us the top 5 questions we need to ask ourselves before agreeing to go on any date with anybody. 1. WHAT INFORMED THE DATE? Yea, what informed the two party to go on the date? Ok, let's make this clearer. What is the original motive or idea that is making you decide on the date? Is it love or romance? Is it God that spoke to you? Or could it be that you guys just wanna get to know each other better? Could it also be that you just want to have fun and get pleasure from it, you know, from a night cap or something? Whatever the motive is, make sure you know it before you agree on that date. 2. WITH WHOM ARE YOU GOING ON THE DATE? As commonly said, like attracts like, the Bible also said, "be not be unequally yoked with unbelievers", "what has light got t...

Who Alone Can Love You Even In Death?

I had quite a huge traffic yesterday on the love post, and I noticed that people are more interested in love matters. Well, actually we are right to be more interested in love matters, because really that is the essence of our existence anyway. Even God is Love, 1 John 4:8. But, love as is were, goes beyond marriage. Marriage is just one of the institutions where love is practiced, there are several others. Of all the 'loves', the love of God should be the most important in our lives, because that is the only love that continues even after death. The Bible permits a partner that loses his better half to death to remarry (1 Corinthians 7:39), but in Romans 8:38-39 nothing can separate us from the love of God, neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor worries for tomorrow, not even the power of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below- indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to...

How To Know Your True Love

As regards to my previous post on crush and crushes, I mentioned that, you would know it when your true love comes. Then someone asked me, "how would you know it?". Initially, I had no answer to that question, because obviously I've not experienced it, I ain't yet married. To be honest, I don't really know the signs that tell you about that person. I've googled, tried wikhow, but nothing seems to give me a clear cut sign. I can't tell if he is the one, but God can tell me (Jeremiah 29:11-14). I tell you, that's the only sure way to know so you wouldn't get carried away by mere superficial emotions. Some sources may present to you "12 signs to tell he/she is your true love", but largely, they are only mere speculations. If your relationship with God is good, I mean, that you let Him decide even the least detail of your life, then you would have no problem in knowing what He His saying about your true love. Many of we Christians keep ...

What Does God Say About Crushes?

Crush: A burning desire to be with someone whom you find attractive and extremely special (Urban Dictionary). **Clears throat** First of all, this is sort of like a confession moment for me. The thing is, I'm the kind that have a crush on just about anybody. Let him be tall, have great abs, be good at playing any musical instrument, them I'm just automatically gonna crush on him, (it becomes serious if he's also boxed up, lol, God forgive me, amen!). Like, it doesn't take my heart so much of a long time before it starts to "feel" or "care" for someone. But most of the time, they all end up just being an infatuation. I'm sure several of you guys are like me too, so what is God saying about crushing on somebody? "Now David's son Absalom had a beautiful sister named Tamar. And Amnon, her half brother, fell desperately in love with her. Amnon became so obsessed with Tamar that he became ill. She was a virgin, and Amnon thought he could n...

Cursing, Cussing, Swearing

Curse O.E. curs "a prayer that evil or harm befall one", "to swear profanely", (Google). We all were born into sin, therefore, it is "normal" to curse and cuss. But here we are, now in Christ, away from the acts and "normal" ways of the world, which leads us to what God has to say about cursing today. "But no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh and bitter water? Does a fig tree produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? No, and you can't draw fresh water from a salty spring." James 3:8-12 NLT.  The Bible has said it all actually, but I want to establish a basic basis. Some of us grew up to have abusive parent(s) or ...

Who Is Mr. Tongue?

This week, we would be going through a series that deals with the tongue. I'm trusting that God Himself would speak to us through this medium in Jesus Name. The tongue as it were, is what enables speech. If a man's tongue is tied or caught off, his speech becomes deterred, such that he would have difficulties in projecting clearly. Therefore, technically, without the tongue, it is impossible to talk clearly. So, what does the bible say about the tongue? In the Book of James, the tongue is an organ that cannot be tamed, that is, you cannot control it. James 3:7-8 "All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison." Well, at the same time, we ought to be able to control our tongue, but how can this be? Actually, what the tongue projects, usually, is not of itself, it says whatever you have going on in your mind. So, in order to...

What Is Your Mouth Speaking?

Out of the abundant of the heart, the mouth speaketh (Luke 6:45). Actually, for so many of us like me who are very extroverted, this is an issue. A Book of the Bible I read that chastises me every time I read it is the Book of James. No matter how frequently I read James, I feel so disappointed at how poorly I have my tongue controlled. Now the Bible says that what you have in your heart is most likely what you speak. For me, I tried so much at will to restrain myself from talking unnecessarily, but on the long run, I realized it is the heart that needs to be restrained. Jesus said that it is not what goes into a man that defiles him, but rather what comes out of him (Matthew 15:11).  I'm asking you now, what kind of thing do you have in abundance in your heart? If you harbor pride within, there's every tendency that your mouth would speak pride. If what you harbor in your heart is lust, pursuit of wealth, fame and stuff, the exact thing you speak is gonna be related to tho...

3 Reasons You Should Read Your Bible Daily

Joshua 1:8 "Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do." This Book of Instruction is our Bible, and below are three of out the zillion reasons why we should read our Bible everyday.  1. Reading your bible everyday reminds you of God's law. It reminds you of what God desires of we His children, which is centered on love. For instance, you may have read sometimes ago in your bible that every unrighteuosness is sin (1John 5:17), but over time forgot it. And as a result, you do some unrighteous things like deceiving your neighbor and you are oblivious to the fact that it is a sin. However, when you read your bible everyday, it constantly reminds you of the love and law of God.  2. Reading your Bible everyday gives you good success. I didn't say so, God did! (Joshua 1:8).  3. The Bible is God's manual to us. Actually, God create...

The Beulah Choir

I saw a very old movie yesterday, title is 'fighting temptation', a black American movie. Seeing the movie made me realize some new things. There was a choir, the Beulah Choir. It consisted of the old, the young, the 'saints', the 'sinners', the prisoners, the harlots, the drinkers, and they were all led by a liar and gold digger. But of course, there was a member of the church who stood out to condemn such a distasteful congregation of choir. I mean she was up and against having sinners in the choir. Initially, I felt the woman should be ignored as she was taking the matter too personally. Well, you know movies, it had all that happy ending and stuff. What bothered me was, what next after the happy ending? Did the sinners in the choir still continued to be sinners or did they repent and were changed for good or not? Actually, that is the situation of our churches this day, we have new members that come in just the way they are, and we accept them for whom t...

Christians And Wealth

This is a very very very controversial issue in the "Christiandom" today. Some churches believe Christians should be poor, or that Christians should not have wealth, because blessed are the poor, (lol) Matthew 5:3. And at the same time, some other churches believe that God is evident in your life through what you have, and that our God is not poor, so also, His children shouldn't be poor. While I can't tell who is right or wrong, I'd briefly share with us some Biblical truths concerning wealth in the next few paragraphs. NB: wealth here means a large amount of money and valuable possessions; the state of being rich; a large amount. (Source: Oxford English Dictionary). 1. Matthew 6:33. The bible says seek ye first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness, and all other things shall be added unto you. As children of God, the first thing that should be our major is seeking our Father's Kingdom and living righteously. I tell you, if that is not in place, seeki...

The Night Is Coming

"There's a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?" John 6:9 NLT. Are you a young man with just very little capital that's not even enough to start up a business that you so much desire? Or are you also an elderly who has what is needed to start up a business, but lack manpower? As a matter of fact, Jesus has solved it already, its just for us to realize this and get started with that plan. Actually, the matter with most of us is that we have this great idea that is enough to make us wealthy up to our fifth generation, but we are waiting for that moment when we would just wake up and someone would tell us we have become the CEO. Sincerely, it doesn't work that way. I'm still in my late teenage years, but if there's anything I have learned through my personal experiences, it is that those who start small and insignificantly are those who are more likely to excel and SUSTAIN their achievements. T...

3 Sure Ways To Overcome Sexual Sins

Sexual sins as far as the Word of God is concerned doesn't have to be when you physically lay down with someone, nope, in as much as you think and fantasize it in your mind, you are guilty of it, Matthew 5:28 "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart". So, through the Holy Spirit, we would learn how to overcome it today. 1. First of all, having sexual urges in itself isn't a sin, it is whether we choose to dwell on it that determines if it's gonna be a sin or not. On this note, the Bible says we should flee all appearances of evil, 1Thessalonians 5:22. Don't get me wrong, sexual urges means your urogenital system is working fine. But, as a matter of fact, it leads to evil if not managed properly. For example, audiovisuals are a high leading cause of sexual sins, that is what you see tend to drive your mind to sin. So to be on a safer side, flee every appearance of evil, by not involving yo...

7 Ways To Identify Wisdom From God

Wisdom, the bible says is principal to direct, Proverbs 4:7. But as we also know, wisdom can come to us and we may be tricked to believe it is from God when clearly it is not. For example, someone who steals may claim he gets wisdom from above which is false. So, below are 7 ways to identify wisdom that is from God, (James 3:17) 1. IT IS FIRST OF ALL PURE. I'd say the opposite of pure is evil, so wisdom is either pure or evil. Note the phrase "First of all", that is, before any other step or course of action, it is pure. If you believe you are wise, but evil is found in your wisdom, then your wisdom is not from above, rather it is from you and your selfish ambition. 2. IT IS ALSO PEACE LOVING. If your wisdom supports violence and promotes hate, I bet you it's not from God.  3. IT IS GENTLE AT ALL TIMES. "At all times brother" not sometimes. Wisdom from God is gentle, it doesn't requires your brash strength. 4.IT IS WILLING TO YIELD TO OTHERS. Wis...

Be A Peacemaker

I remember back in my high school days, whenever two people were involved in a fight, seriously, I always had this satisfactory feeling of having fun. In fact, most times, I encouraged the fight and hoped that no one would stand up to separate or settle the fight. This went on until the day I got involved in a fight myself, and there was also no one to stop the fight, I mean, everyone just watched with faces gleamed with satisfaction as the verbal exchanges escalated to physical combats. We both settled the issue ourselves when we got tired of the fight. At that moment, I was in pain, not as a result of the brawl, but because no one even tried to stop the fight from getting worse, including those I thought were friends. It was then that I made up my mind to always try to settle fights or quarrels (that's within my capacity tho). The bible says in the Beatitude that blessed are the peacemakers, for they would be called the children of God, (Matthew. 5:9). One of the things that ...

What Matters? The End Or Beginning!

The end of a thing is better than its beginning thereof, Ecclesiastes 7:8. The funny thing about life is that the end is usually what determines how well you have lived. Even in Christianity, it is also like that. It is whether you make heaven or not at the end that matters, and not how well a Christian you may claim to be. With this in mind, we already have what it takes to excel in whatever we do. Let's imagine this scenario, there are two people, one of them is a Christian, I mean a real Christian, and the other is the exact opposite, he doesn't know God. Then, at the end of each of their lives, the Christian made an error and ended up in hell, while the other one got born again on his death bed, and made heaven. Now, you agree with me that it is the end of a thing that really matters, though it may seen unfair, but that's just how it is. This is not to make us start living out of Christ, but to make us conscious of the fact that there is a target which we must attai...

What Is Worldly?

Sometimes, I try to buy a dress, and somewhere in my mind I hear "that is worldly". Some other times, I'm listening to a good music, and instinct just tell me "hey Miss, that's some worldly lyrics". These instances sound familiar to you right? Or you got invited to a friend's party and even before you utter a word, "worldly" has already been screamed in your head. Seriously, you are not alone in this, and that's why the Holy Spirit would be taking His time out to help us define what is worldly.  First and foremost, it is either you are in Christ, or in the world, so permit me to say that anything that is not in Christ is worldly, John 15:19. Having established that fact, we can now go ahead to draw the line between Christ and the world. Mind you, the nature of the world has become sinful from the time of the fall in the garden of Eden, Genesis 3. Therefore, there's no way you can be of the world and please God, nope, God hates sin, a...

War Against The Soul

"Dear friends, I warn you as 'temporary residents and foreigners' to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls." 1Peter 2:11 NLT. There are times when we feel very disturbed over nothing par say. I don't know if its general, but for me, there are sometimes I just feel so disturbed within myself, without really knowing why. Some people tell me it's hormone, or period related which I doubt now. While waiting on God for today's blog post, He showed me the verse above, 1Peter 2:11. Instantly, my mind went to those times I just felt disturbed for nothing, and I realized something was waging war against my soul. The thing is, when our soul is not at peace, there is no way we can be at peace too. Now, what I want us to realize first is that, we are temporary residents here, therefore worldly desires shouldn't be a part of us. But, we live in a world that it is not all that easy to ignore, which as a result deprives us peace of ...

4 Ways To Hear From God

So here is it, the posts on pursuing and the key to recovery seem to be generating more and more raised questions, but be rest assured, the Holy Spirit is here to fill you in. So, we have learned that the key to a successful pursuit is knowing the mind of God by hearing from Him, and that leads us to these 5 ways to hear from God. 1. THROUGH HIS WORDS. The Bible is where we have the Word of God that speaks life. It is more like a manual for us in this world, written by God Himself (2Timothy 3:16). The Bible says, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Honestly speaking, 95% of what I write here on this blog is inspired by the Scriptures. So Live your bible, Love it, and Lead with it! 2. THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT. The Holy Spirit is God Himself in us (John 15:26). The bible says we are the temple of God, therefore He lives in us (1Corinthians 3:16). I really cannot explain how this occurs, but God speaks to His children through the Holy Spirit. If you a...

The Key To Recovery

In retrospect to what I shared yesterday is today's post. Some guy asked me why one needs to pursue at all if at the end of the day it is what would be that would be. And seriously, the guy spoke my mind. Candidly, why should we fast and pray over something that actually God might just think, "Hmm, my child doesn't need this now, angels, let's ignore his plea". Imagine that, and the person in question is crying and waiting on God. In my ordeal, the Holy Spirit opened my senses to some things that really matter, and I pray that He will open yours now too in Jesus Name(Amen). The Holy Spirit says the reason why we have so much worry over our faith is because we do not know the mind of God over what we are seemingly trusting Him for. Most times, we just assume He's given a go ahead, when He really didn't. God's silence over a matter should not at all be mistaken for an approval. We're going to be looking at the story two kings in the bible as a ca...

What If I Pursue And Recover Not?

This is a trivial topic common amongst all ages of Christians. In fact, most people lose their faith in Christ because of this issue. You know, pursuing something, trusting God, praying about it, and yet not getting it at the end of the day. It is actually frustrating, and making it worse is the fact that we may have put all our might in it and gathered all the faith we could get believing that God would do it. The truth is God can do it, so, before you lose your faith in Christ, or pick on a quarrel with God, remember this. What you need to know is that nothing changes who God is, the fact that He chose not to give you what you want doesn't change Him from being God, therefore, your anger towards Him won't stop Him from being who He is, Malachi 3:6. Moreover, He wants the best for you, so you can be sure that whatever He does is actually the best for you at that point in time. Over the years of being a Christian, I've realized that what makes us Christians so disappoin...

God Didn't Move, You Did!

Image
I'm so sorry for going on a two days break, I'm actually going through a transition, I told you guys about the issue of accommodation with my school right? So, I've been working on moving from an on campus hostel to an off campus house, it hasn't been stress free, but God has been involved. There are just times that we don't feel God, or better put, we feel faraway from God, and it makes us wonder what could be happening. The actuality of it is that God didn't move, you did. But even if at all God did move, it is because of your sin, you know His eyes cannot behold iniquity and stuff. But here, I'm talking to someone who has triumphed over sin. I'm talking to a real Christian whom by default is a true worshiper of God . So, what is the solution when you feel distant from God which is of course not as a result of sin. First of all, you need to accept the fact that it was you who moved, and not God, therefore you are also the one who needs to take t...

There Is Time For Everything

Image
The book of Ecclesiastes is a book I've come to fall in love with over time, and I call it my "Refuge Book". Actually Ecclesiastes is a book that was written by someone who has wealth, I mean W-E-A-L-T-H. So, for a wealthy man to say "there is time for everything", then indeed, there is time for everything, Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. In the real sense of life, there are so many times that we might wonder why we weren't some other persons or why we were born into the family we presently find ourselves. Earlier in my 'teenagehood', I wanted to be so many people all at the same time. I wanted to be a model, an actress, a dancer, a journalist, a newscaster, a TV presenter or to feature in a TV commercial, a lawyer, and an oil and gas exporter, lol. I'm sure it wasn't just me, almost every teenager goes through that phase. Then later, my wish moved on to being President Barrack Obama's daughter, or any other highly respectable dignitary's da...

7 Private Places You Can Pray

Image
One of the advantages of being a child of God is that you can talk to God just about anywhere and at anytime. Majority of us complain about the lack of privacy we have to pray, hence the reason for this list. Ephesians 6:18. 1. IN THE LOO. For those wondering what loo is, the loo is the toilet where you do that thing, lol. What privacy do u need again when you are alone in there, so whenever you have your stomach dragging you to the loo, remember to spend that 5 to 30mins praying. NB: For your hygiene, I advice you pray with your mind open, and not your mouth. 2. IN THE CLASSROOM. Although the privacy here is not maximally guaranteed, you can still get some few minutes to talk to God. If you can pray about a few minutes before your exam starts, then you should be able to even when exams are not near. Don't pray in class only when you have your exam question papers staring at you. 3. IN YOUR ROOM. Well, this might not be applicable to everyone, especially for those who sha...

Top 5 Things To Do When Grief Overwhelms You

Image
99.9% Christians will agree with me that the feeling of grief is inevitable, am I right? The thing is, we're are not of this world, but we are in it, and as a result we are left with no choice than to share in the problems of the world. Well, the joy we have is that Jesus has already overcome the world for us. Therefore, I've come up with this list through God Himself, to help us in our times of grief and sadness. 1. SING HYMNS. Hymns are songs Heaven actually credits. When you sing hymns, there's just this awareness of the presence of the Almighty God that you feel, and it definitely would help your mood. Singing hymns lifts the spirit, and of course gives a speedy recovery from the feeling of grief. 2. READ PSALMS. Most of the Psalms when written by David were in the times he was distressed and sad. So, Psalms help you communicate your mind exactly to God, and asides that, it also gives you comfort through the promises and assurance David had in God. Please, make ...

What Is Your Major, Assets Or Access?

I was in fellowship tonight and the Preacher posed a question on assets and access. Now, I'm going to be paraphrasing the same question to us. Is our major to get assets from God, and our minor to access His presence? Actually, majority of us have forgotten that the reason why we are Christians is to know and serve God, but instead, we use Christianity to gain fame and fortune. The bible clearly said we should seek ye first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness, and all other things shall be added unto us, Matthew 6:33. Most a times, we only know this scripture in our hearts but out actions are the exact opposite. I'm sorry God isn't looking for gold diggers, nope! rather He is looking for a man to fill with His presence. Besides, the presence of God in a man's life is more than enough to satisfy a man far beyond what assets can give. The bible also says that if all we ever gain by being Christians is just for this life, then we are most miserable of all people, ...

Where Is God When We Get Disappointed?

Greetings to everyone. I'm sorry I couldn't post anything yesterday, I had a little challenge which shook me to the marrow, and I don't mind sharing it with you. The post title has summarized the whole idea, but I'd still go into details so you can learn from it. First of all, I love my dear country Nigeria, though we have lots of problems we're dealing with. However, due to the fact that we're a growing overpopulated nation, our academic institutions have several lapses in the basic infrastructures. So, here is it, my school (I'm sorry, I wouldn't like to mention the name due to some ethical reasons), ok, my school has problems with accommodation, I mean hostel accommodation, so like 15 students have to compete for just one bed space, you can imagine. Well, somehow I didn't get one. Actually, that wasn't what shook me, it was the fact that I knew I had God on my side and I still couldn't get what I was of a truth entitled to. So do you get...
