My What Next After Meeting Jesus Experience- Joe

As part of making us learn of Christ from one another, there is an opportunity for you to share your experiences after meeting Jesus. So, here is the very first what next after meeting Jesus experience by a fellow, named Joe (other names withheld).

Read below. Greetings unto everyone in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. My name is Joe and I'm happy to be sharing my what next after meeting Jesus experience with you. For me, meeting Jesus was quite a shock to even I myself, I met Him just as I finished high school. I happened to be in a church service one day, and God arrested me, and up till this moment, I still cannot explain how or why it happened.

I used to steal, not like I used guns, I was more of a burglar, sneaked into people's shops and homes when they weren't around to take whatever my hands could find. After meeting Jesus, I came to the understanding that I needed to restitute my ways, and give back whatever I have acquired by false means. This was a very big challenge, because most of the people I burgled were those who knew me in the neighborhood, they were classmates from school. I thought, "how would I face these people that knew me and my family, to tell them I was the one who burgled their house and stole from them?"

It became a burden in my heart, such that at almost every service, all I was able to decipher from the Preacher's sermon was to make my ways straight before God. I tried to defend myself by quoting Scriptures like "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold, all things are new" 1 Corinthians 5:17, but the Spirit of God kept telling me to go to those people I stole from, and confess what I had done to them.

On the long run, I met my Pastor, we prayed together, and with the leading of the Holy Spirit, I set on my way to make things right. I don't want to go into details as to how the whole process went, but honestly, none of those people I met gave me trouble. They all said the same things, that even they themselves are not worthy to hold my sins against me. What a relief! The peace that flooded my heart thereafter was overwhelming, I could almost hear God audibly say "well done my son".

Therefore, I am also appealing to you, if you sense that God is calling your attention to restitution, please, do not hesitate to respond to it. The devil knows that after restitution, it is as though God shows you another side of Himself. And so, the devil frightens you with several thoughts and encourages you to ignore that call. Please, do not ignore it.

"Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, "I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much! Jesus responded, 'Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost." Luke 19:8-10 NLT.

This is my third year after meeting Jesus and I have had no regrets whatsoever, God bless you.

Hmmmm, from me, SHALOM!
