Didn't The Lord Make You One With Your Wife?
I was going through my bible yesterday morning, and I came across Malachi 2:15, that says, "Didn't the Lord make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his. And what does He want? Godly children from your union. So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth." NLT. And I was like "wow!" So God is aware of the fact that there is a tendency for a married man or one who's engaged to suddenly become in love with another person other than his partner.
Up, until now, I used to wonder why married men and women cheat on their spouses, and why out of nowhere, they become attracted to someone else. The reason is just simple, it is because they have failed to guard their hearts. For a woman especially, it is very much easier to become attracted to someone that ain't their partner. Well, the Bible says in Proverbs 4:23 "Guard your heart above all else for out of it flows the issues of life".
For you who have found your better half, but still occasionally get attracted to someone else, I tell you, it is because your heart is not guarded. Just as the LORD has said, please guard your heart, lest you become unfaithful.
In addition, for we who have no partners yet, we have Christ. And have been faithful to Him? Or have we lost guard of our hearts and turned to other less important things like money? Again and again, please guard your heart and be faithful to whom the LORD has joined you with. Shalom
