How To Know Your True Love

As regards to my previous post on crush and crushes, I mentioned that, you would know it when your true love comes. Then someone asked me, "how would you know it?".

Initially, I had no answer to that question, because obviously I've not experienced it, I ain't yet married. To be honest, I don't really know the signs that tell you about that person. I've googled, tried wikhow, but nothing seems to give me a clear cut sign. I can't tell if he is the one, but God can tell me (Jeremiah 29:11-14).

I tell you, that's the only sure way to know so you wouldn't get carried away by mere superficial emotions. Some sources may present to you "12 signs to tell he/she is your true love", but largely, they are only mere speculations. If your relationship with God is good, I mean, that you let Him decide even the least detail of your life, then you would have no problem in knowing what He His saying about your true love.

Many of we Christians keep our businesses and lives away from God, we only attend Sunday services, or once a while program, rarely read our Bibles, and magically, we expect God to just show up in our dreams, and say in a thick loud and clear voice, "My child, I love you so much, Joan is your soul mate, love ye Her" (lol). Sweetheart, it's not gonna work that way. If you haven't been good friends with God, I'm sorry, He wouldn't tell you. And even when He does, I doubt you'd know He His speaking, because you don't even recognize his voice to start with (Matthew 13:13-15). The issue of marriage is a very sensitive issue, you just cannot afford to marry the wrong person (1 Corinthians 7).

Therefore, for now, put the issue of marriage at arms length, and focus on being good friends with God through the Scriptures. Work on yourself to be a better person, you know, first things first (Romans 12:11). You first, then your partner.

If you want to marry a God fearing wealthy child of God, I'd advice you to do same for yourself also. You can't be a stripper and think God would be fooled into giving His child to you for marriage. Gone are those times when God ordered Prophets to marry harlots (Hosea 1:2), now, he arranges weddings for virgins. If not, a prostitute would have given birth to our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:18).

So if you think God still operates in that era, well, I can only be sorry for you. Give your life to following Christ today, and make God the deciding factor of all that you entail. "Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are His dear children." Ephesians 5:1 NLT. Shalom.
