How Are You Ending Your 2015?
For some, 2015 has been the best year so far, for some others, it has been the worst year, and for some still, 2015 has just been there. Well, no matter how you choose to describe your 2015, much more importantly is how you choose to end it.
It is very possible that you might not have been able to achieve some of your 2015 resolutions, fine, but what steps have you taken to rectify your shortcomings? For instance, prior to the start of the year 2015, I made a resolution to read through my Bible at least once this year. As it were, I couldn't even read half the Bible, hey! Don't be that much surprised, I'm as human as you are. I also have a group of friends, whose resolution was to become size 10 (as in a weight loss program). They are around size 14 now though.
So, what's the moral of the story? You may have had your big list in January, and none of them may have materialized, no problem. "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1Thessalonians 5:18.
Therefore, in ending 2015, first of all, give thanks to God, fast and pray if you can. Then, revisit your initial resolutions, identify your shortcomings, change your strategics, and commence work on them as soon as possible. You don't have to end the year by beating yourself up, cursing yourself, or even blaming others because you didn't perform well up to expectation, (doing all of those won't do you any much good, crying most especially, trust me!).
I mentioned earlier my not being able to read my bible through this year. So now, to end the year, I am going to re plan my daily Bible reading scheme, talk to God about it, and end the year with praise. You too should also do the same concerning all those things you are not happy about, and surely God is going to help you.
"Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you." Psalm 37:5 NLT. Shalom.
