4 Ways To Hear From God

So here is it, the posts on pursuing and the key to recovery seem to be generating more and more raised questions, but be rest assured, the Holy Spirit is here to fill you in. So, we have learned that the key to a successful pursuit is knowing the mind of God by hearing from Him, and that leads us to these 5 ways to hear from God.

1. THROUGH HIS WORDS. The Bible is where we have the Word of God that speaks life. It is more like a manual for us in this world, written by God Himself (2Timothy 3:16). The Bible says, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Honestly speaking, 95% of what I write here on this blog is inspired by the Scriptures. So Live your bible, Love it, and Lead with it!

2. THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT. The Holy Spirit is God Himself in us (John 15:26). The bible says we are the temple of God, therefore He lives in us (1Corinthians 3:16). I really cannot explain how this occurs, but God speaks to His children through the Holy Spirit. If you are yet to experience this or if you aren't sure the Holy Spirit is in you, the Bible says you should thirst for it, ask God and He will give His Spirit freely to you (Luke 11:13).

3. THROUGH THE PROPHETS. Errm, actually, I have quite some reservations about this, because I believe if God can speak to me directly, why would I still need to hear from Him through another person. But, believe it or not, there are still true prophets of God, only that they may be few or hard to come by.

 4. THROUGH DREAMS AND REVELATIONS. Yea, dreams, God communicates to us through our dreams. The ability to dream and actually remember it, and also understand it is a gift from God. The bible says the young men shall see visions, and the old men will dream dreams (Acts 2:17). For me, this is one method that is so, like if I doze between a lecture for five minutes, I just must dream. However, there is a clause here, after we dream, we have to pray about it, and confirm it is God through the Scriptures. For example, if you need money badly, and in your dreams, you stole without getting caught, my dear it is not God. God doesn't steal and neither would he encourage stealing, it's the devil who has come to steal, kill, and to destroy (John 10:10).

The ways through which you can hear from God are not limited to the above only, God is diverse, and can speak to you through just about anything. Imagine, Balaam's donkey spoke, so your pet my speak too if God sees the need (Numbers 22:28).  You can also add more ways that you have experienced God talk to you in the comment.

In all of this, regard the Word of God, it is very important, because the Word is God (John 1:1). Shalom.

Things You Shouldn't Do In Church

Last week Thursday, I was in the Bible Study in my fellowship, and while the message was being preached, I rested my head on my thigh (bending forwards to rest my head, with my arms as support on my thigh), you get what I mean right? COMPETITION, is one thing, as mortal beings, we cannot but do. Thanks to Biology, competition is one of the characteristics of living things, so it's not as though it is a sin. But as a Christian, there are some things you ought to know while you are out there competing with others. 1. The aim of every competition is to win, to come out better than every other counterpart. As a matter of fact, some Christians now compete to oppress the losers so to speak. That is bad actually, and is in no way healthy.
