7 Ways To Identify Wisdom From God

Wisdom, the bible says is principal to direct, Proverbs 4:7. But as we also know, wisdom can come to us and we may be tricked to believe it is from God when clearly it is not. For example, someone who steals may claim he gets wisdom from above which is false. So, below are 7 ways to identify wisdom that is from God, (James 3:17)

1. IT IS FIRST OF ALL PURE. I'd say the opposite of pure is evil, so wisdom is either pure or evil. Note the phrase "First of all", that is, before any other step or course of action, it is pure. If you believe you are wise, but evil is found in your wisdom, then your wisdom is not from above, rather it is from you and your selfish ambition.

2. IT IS ALSO PEACE LOVING. If your wisdom supports violence and promotes hate, I bet you it's not from God.

 3. IT IS GENTLE AT ALL TIMES. "At all times brother" not sometimes. Wisdom from God is gentle, it doesn't requires your brash strength.

4.IT IS WILLING TO YIELD TO OTHERS. Wisdom from God would listen to others and share their view. Wisdom from God isn't in form of a dictatorship.

5. IT SHOWS NO FAVORITISM. Wisdom from God wouldn't support racism, or anything like it.

 6. IT IS ALWAYS SINCERE. Honestly, wisdom given to you from above is sincere, it wouldn't encourage you to lie or use false scale of measurements, Leviticus 19:35-36.

7. IT IS FULL OF MERCY AND GOOD DEEDS. And yes, the point that struck me the most. I was in a cab in Lagos City Nigeria one day, and as usual with most Lagosian drivers, they are very aggressive. I'd assume that fateful day was a bad day for that driver, and so he got on my nerves. I just had no choice than to insult him, and the next thing he planned to do was to assault me (hey NOT sexual assault). Luckily, I highlighted from his vehicle before he even had a chance to get at me.

Now, my point here is that, after that day, I kept telling God I wanted him to give me a friend or husband or relation in the army, lol. Reason being that I just want to be able to make people fear me with just a single phone call that I make. I stumbled upon this James 3:17 that says wisdom from above is full of mercy and good deeds, and I was brought down to repentance. My wisdom to get an army hubby was not in any way leading to mercy and good deeds.

Wisdom from above that day would have been to just have my mouth kept shut, instead of insulting him. Probably, he had a sick child or had a nagging wife, which made him aggressive, who knows? So wisdom from God is considerate of others, and not plotting and devising ways to make others suffer. And these are the 7 ways, according to James 3:17.

In conclusion, before you ever think one wisdom came from above, test it through the above list to confirm it came God. Shalom.

Things You Shouldn't Do In Church

Last week Thursday, I was in the Bible Study in my fellowship, and while the message was being preached, I rested my head on my thigh (bending forwards to rest my head, with my arms as support on my thigh), you get what I mean right?
