What If I Pursue And Recover Not?
This is a trivial topic common amongst all ages of Christians. In fact, most people lose their faith in Christ because of this issue. You know, pursuing something, trusting God, praying about it, and yet not getting it at the end of the day. It is actually frustrating, and making it worse is the fact that we may have put all our might in it and gathered all the faith we could get believing that God would do it. The truth is God can do it, so, before you lose your faith in Christ, or pick on a quarrel with God, remember this.
What you need to know is that nothing changes who God is, the fact that He chose not to give you what you want doesn't change Him from being God, therefore, your anger towards Him won't stop Him from being who He is, Malachi 3:6. Moreover, He wants the best for you, so you can be sure that whatever He does is actually the best for you at that point in time.
Over the years of being a Christian, I've realized that what makes us Christians so disappointed so to speak, is our fear. Even though we are aware that God loves us, wants the best for us, has a plan and a future set for us, we are still scared of the future. We are scared of what would happen if we do not achieve what we desire. My experience in the previous week has really made me realize my fear of the "what if(s)". I asked myself, "what if I don't get an accommodation on campus?" "What if God wants me to live in town" "what if I have issues with my transportation". Basically, our fear of "what if(s)" has blinded our minds not to see what God is doing.
See, the best we can do is to live each day at a time, letting God have His way, and doing it the way it pleases Him. To be honest with you, that moment you allowed Jesus to be your Lord and Savior was the moment your own will became history. It becomes no longer you, but Christ who lives in you Galatians 2:20. The fact remains that our fears wouldn't change anything, and neither would it stop what we are so scared not to happen from happening. There's a common saying that what will be will be, "que sera sera", my dear it is true, even God said He would have mercy on whomever He chooses to have mercy Romans 9:15.
Let what will be be, ok? If God wanted you to have it, you wouldn't have had to go through all that stress. So from now, stop being scared of the what "if(s)", instead, look on the brighter side of it, and be glad God is the one involved Psalm 37:5. May God continue to strengthen us all, and give us confidence to face our "what if(s)" in Jesus Name, Amen. Shalom
