What Makes Your Sexual Desire Sinful
Though we have been set free from the power of sin, we are still very much capable of committing sin. Sexual sin is one of the worst sin ever, even the bible describes it as worse. The bible says it is a sin committed to oneself, and exclusively at length warned us against sexual immorality (1Corinthians 6:18). Having sexual desires is in fact natural, and it has been put there in the first place by God (Genesis 2:18). What makes it sinful is what we choose to do about it, just as what you choose to do with a gun determines whether you are going to commit an offense or not. We ourselves know when our sexual desire becomes sin, but for the benefit of doubt, please read on.
A. Your sexual desire becomes sinful when you fantasize having sex already. For instance, you see a guy or a lady whether attractive or not, and you go ahead imagining that person in bed with you. Or when you begin to imagine what is underneath that person's garment for the aim of deriving pleasure. The other person may or may not be aware of your own illusion, but it is sin (Matthew 5:28).
B. You are watching a movie that is showing a sexual activity, and you are already like, "Oh my God, I wish that was me there", and then you actually go ahead to put yourself there by either masturbating, viewing porn, etc. That becomes sinful.
C. As a married person, your sexual desire becomes sin when you start to lust after someone other than your spouse. Really this is very bad, because you are putting not only yourself, but your spouse, and the other person in danger. It is called adult-e-ry (Proverbs 6:32-34) Be a wise married man or woman.
D. Though I have heard some church claim masturbation is not a sin, well, as far God is concerned, it is a sin, because it is a sexual immorality. Therefore, masturbating makes your sexual desires sinful (1Thessalonians 4:3)
E. Your sexual desire becomes sinful when you actually go get 'it' when you are not yet married. Sex outside marriage is wrong, and that is it. You may decide to argue this to justify you sinful actions, well, the Bible says we shall be judged of every secret or non secret actions (Ecclesiastes 12:14).
So long you are a Christian, and want to grow in faith, please stay away from whatever would make your sexual desires sinful (2Timothy 2:22). No other thing destroys a man than this. Now that you know what makes your sexual desires sinful, watch out for "What To Do To Prevent Sexual Sin". Shalom.
