Stirring Up Love At The Wrong Time

"Do not awaken love until the time is right" Song of Songs 2:7b NLT. The Song of Songs is well known for its epic romance tale, and may I remind you that Song of Songs is in the Bible, yup, just before the book of Isaiah. In a way, God is not against romance, He supports it. In fact God Himself is love, and He commanded us to love one another (Mark 12:31).

Critically studying the Song of Songs, it's obvious that the lady and the man were not married, and that explains why she asked the young women of Jerusalem to promise never to awaken love until the time is right. Love is a beautiful thing, but it is also a passion that consumes. Imagine, even God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (John 3:16). So, love is actually, not a child's play, it is for matured minds only. As a young man or lady, please, I'm also asking you, to promise not to awaken love until the time is right.

You see, love stirs up a passion in you that if not careful, would control you. Romantic love at this stage of ones growth in faith, would undoubtedly draw away attention from God, that's just the truth. Until you are ready for marriage, please don't awaken love. As a single Christian, when you wake up early in the morning, the first person you think of most likely is God, and when you go to bed at night, it's still God. But when you awaken love at the wrong time, you would end up roaming the streets in the middle of the night looking for your lover, and the night watchmen would beat you blue black, bruise you, and strip you naked, lol (Song of Songs 5:7).

Really, I do not know how to conclude this matter, but please, do not awaken love until the time is right. You may feel you need to have a partner like asap, someone to care about and care about you, someone to share all of you with, but that is actually what the Holy Spirit can do for you if only you allow Him. He is there to care for you, pull you out of a bad mood swing, teach you things, and several others.

You may also ask, "when is the right time to stir up love?" Well, the right time is when you are ready, spiritually, financially, mentally, socially, morally, intellectually, etc. Be careful so you don't fall a prey of the devil. Shalom
