When You Are Envious Of Another Christian
"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them" Romans 8:28 NLT. I believe we love God, because we obey His commands, and I believe we've been called according to His purpose for us. It doesn't matter whom we were, where we come from, or how we even met Christ. What matters now is that we are in Christ, and we have been called according to His purpose for us. If you agree with me on this, then I go on with what the Holy Spirit has for you today, "ENVY".
As part of who we are, It is normal for us to notice those around us, and then get envious of those who are seemingly successful in what they are doing. Yes, they are Christians just like you, and you feel it's as though everything is in their favour alone. While that may be true, you have to understand that we all have different purposes in Christ. The troubles and trials you may be going through now are part of those things that would take you to your expected end. Joseph was sold into slavery and thrown into prison in order for him to have his expected end. It may seem as if nothing is working your way now, but it is your experience that will lead you to your destination.
Do not think God has forgotten you, He Hasn't, and He never will, neither think that He has rejected you, no, He Hasn't, He is only working in ways you cannot see. So stop crying, stop being envious of other's success, instead, make their testimonies your own meditation (Psalm 119:99).
If you are going through a hard time right now, there is this song by Don Moen, "Our God is Able". Its an old song though, but I'd like you to download and listen to it.
On a final note, what you are facing right now is part of what God has called you into, therefore you should stop being envious of that other Christian who has "everything" because, envy is not a fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5). And remember,if God be for you, who can stand against you? Shalom.
