Garments Better Than Designers

One of the most common trend of this day is to acquire and put on designer wears that enhances the outward beauty and appearance, and at the same time neglect the spiritual beauty which is more important. According to 1Peter 3:2-5, the holy women of old made themselves beautiful through a gentle and quiet spirit which is so precious to God.

The point is not to stop caring about your outward appearance, but it is that you should pay more attention to your spirit man. Do you not have a gentle and quiet spirit? Are you the type that gets angry at every little instance? Are you the type that boasts on how much you are worth? If your answer has been yes, and you are still running helter skelter to buy designers, then you are wrong. Instead why don't you just concentrate on having a gentle and quiet spirit through the Holy Spirit. Make yourself beautiful by the word of God, allow it pierce through your body, soul, and spirit, and let it take away the impurity in you by the renewal of your mind.

Givenchy, chanel, Jimmy Choo, Mary kay, etc, they all are good, but make sure God recognizes your spiritual beauty first. Of what benefit is a cup that is neat and clean outside, but filthy on the inside? Surely even you can't drink from that cup, how much more God? In other words, spend more time sitting in front of your bible than in front of your mirror. Your bible reflects who you are, and your mirror only reflect your structure.

Choose wisely today that garment you want to wear, the 'givenchys' or that which is to God of great value. Shalom.
