Letting Go

After meeting Jesus, there are just so many things you would just have to let go, like your will, your bad behaviors, your pride, your ungodly friends, and including you yourself. Yea, you let go of your own self, that is the old man that you were, and start to be a new man in Christ. For today, the Holy Spirit wants to tell you about your resentments. "Resentment is a mixture of disappointment, anger, and fear. As the surprise of injustice becomes less frequent, so too does anger and fear fade -leaving disappointment as the predominant emotion (source: wikipedia)". Resentment is something most Christians don't deal with on time until it gets at them and causes a long term disaster. It could be from a childhood memory or a recent event. Whichever ways, the Holy Spirit wants you to let it go. Your resentment could be towards someone, maybe your parents, siblings, or neighbors. Well, to whomever it may be, it is time to let go. How it that possible? Sincerely, it is easier than we think, below are some of the highlighted steps among several others you can take.
1. Sit down, take a pen and a book, write out the name of that person you resent, and whatever it is the person has done to hurt you. Make sure you are honest with yourself and the Holy Spirit, also its ok if it is gonna make you cry. Please do, it helps.
2. On that same note, write out what you would have preferred if you were given a chance to go back that lane. For example, if you suffered abuses by your dad, you would preferred to enjoy his love. Do you get? Ok
3. Imagine what Jesus had to go through for the sake of people who despised him, scribble down what you can write.
4. Also think of what Jesus could have done just like in (2)above, like he sending angels to rescue him.
5. Now, can you see a comparison, I mean something common between you and Jesus? You both have suffering in common. But then, Jesus already let go, why haven't you? So, brethren, please if you're still holding unto your hurt, imagine how disappointed and hurt Jesus was, even His Father abandoned him on the cross. Just imagine that pain, but in the end He forgave and totally, He let go. Its hard, Jesus knows how it feels, but it easy when you involve Him. Tell it to Jesus that you want to let go and through the Holy Spirit, He'll teach you how to according to what you can do at a time.
6. Finally, tear that paper and as you are doing so, take it as releasing every bit of your resentment.....Its okay dear.
Let Jesus take the driver seat. Stay blessed always
