Quiet Time Inconsistencies

We all have heard it over and over again from men of God, we've read about it, we've practiced it, we've been inconsistent with it, we've missed it, we've stopped it, we've continued with it, we've paused again, we've been on and off about it, the list is just endless. I'm talking about our quiet moments with God, where we hear directly from Him and also speak directly with Him. I don't want to dwell on the benefits of having quiet moments with the Lord because its just too much that I can't tell it all, and I want you to know it yourself, but I would discuss the quiet time in itself, and by the Grace of God, there would be an end to our inconsistencies in the name of Jesus.
Quiet time, as the name implies is the time where you wait to hear from God in a quiet state of mind, body, soul and spirit. Your remaining quiet means being still in your spirit, not burdening and boring God with your endless list of wants. You remain in total submission and wait for God to speak to you through the reading of His word and meditating on His word. Quiet moments with Him should be a time we look forward to and not a time we dread. God loves to fellowship with man, and commune with us, He loves to talk with His children. When you start to see alone moments with God as an avenue to hear what He is saying, you would stop being inconsistent.
Another thing is, you should stop being hard on yourself like trying to forcefully hear from God. No, the Spirit of God is a gentle Spirit and He won't force you, so be calm about it. Release yourself, and you can be sure to hear from Him, be free to express yourself. Imagine you want to talk to a little girl and all she ever does is to avoid you, and even when she sits with you, she's in a hurry to leave, she's the one doing all the talking, she tells you what she wants you to say, and over all she doesn't even trust you to manage her time. Sincerely, how would you feel? So imagine making God feel that way too, you see its bad.
"Come unto me all ye that labor and are heaven laden, and I'll give you rest". If you don't go to Him, I'm afraid you won't get that rest, therefore you need to move from where you are and go to Him. Go to God quietly, with your bible, have a quiet time journal, and you can be sure God will take you more seriously. Start writing those things God tell you about as in Habakuk 2.
I pray for you today the grace to have a consistent Father and child moments with God in Jesus name, Amen.
Stay blessed, and have an awesome Sunday.
