A True Life Story

This is a "what next after meeting Jesus" experience by a reader of this blog. It is quite touching, and I do hope you learn from it. Shalom.

Greetings to you in the name of our God. My name, where I'm from is of no importance to you right now, what is more important is that name 'Jesus'. Jesus, I met in college, and He is the best thing that ever happened to me. I came from a broken home, grew up in a house where the dad and mum are always quarreling, you know, home for me was a nightmare.

After completing high school, I was fortunate to have a college admission almost immediately, so I happily said goodbyes to the home I couldn't call "home". My plan as at then, was to study to be a lawyer, a divorce lawyer precisely, and then after graduating, I would help women who suffer in their marriages get a divorce at a very low and affordable cost. Little did I know that God had an entirely different plan, and I'm actually grateful for it.

Barely a year into my time in school, Jesus met me, and I met Him, I wouldn't want to go much into details of how it happened, because I'm here to share my "what next after meeting Jesus story".

So, after we had met, through various means, He began to show me how much it wasn't in His plan to make women suffer in their marriage. He explained to me that he did not will for me or any other person out there to have a dreadful home. His plan for us is for good and not evil, so that we may have an expected end. Little by little, I began to change my orientation on divorce, I tried to forget my nights of weeping and wishing I was from a better home. I so much appreciate the Holy Spirit, because if not for him, only God knows what a terrible divorce attorney I would have become.

 As God was renewing my mind, I was renewing my family too in the way I could. I started to make peace rather than aggravate the tension at home. My presence at home brought peace and calmness, even I can't explain how or what makes it happen, but I'm sure it is God at work. So, for me, what is next after meeting Jesus is to bring peace to my home, it is that the peace in my mind extends to all and sundry.

Friends, your case may be similar to mine or might even be worse than mine, it doesn't matter, Jesus can handle your situation. Let Jesus in you be Jesus in your home, involve Jesus in your parent's marriage, and I'm sure he would do it for you.

To the glory of God, even though my father is yet to be born again, he is giving my mother less trouble. The prayer I still trust God to answer is the genuine salvation for my parents, and of course, I know He would answer at the right time.

Finally, you are in your family for a reason, stand up to face the devil and fight him with the blood of Jesus from today. May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding fill our homes in Jesus name. Thank you.

Things You Shouldn't Do In Church

Last week Thursday, I was in the Bible Study in my fellowship, and while the message was being preached, I rested my head on my thigh (bending forwards to rest my head, with my arms as support on my thigh), you get what I mean right? I wasn't exactly sleeping though, but in that position, I appeared to have somewhat gone far away from the Bible Study. Out of nowhere, the Bible Study secretary called me to answer a question! I couldn't even at that first instance comprehend the question, so, I asked him to repeat himself, and guess what? The congregation busted out laughing. COMPETITION, is one thing, as mortal beings, we cannot but do. Thanks to Biology, competition is one of the characteristics of living things, so it's not as though it is a sin. But as a Christian, there are some things you ought to know while you are out there competing with others. 1. The aim of every competition is to win, to come out better than every other counterpart. As a matter of fact, some Christians now compete to oppress the losers so to speak. That is bad actually, and is in no way healthy. When you find yourself in a situation where you have to just compete, your aim should be to win, and not to oppress your counterparts.
