3 Guides That Would Save You From Peril
Every now and then, we decide in our minds to do something, I mean like a resolution, yet on the long run, we fail to do those things. Do you know why? "My people perish for lack of knowledge" Hosea 4:6, that is why! These simple three guides if taken seriously, would help us adjust and keep us moving.

1. KNOW YOUR DRIVING FORCE: "But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the King." Daniel 1:8a NLT. Daniel decided not to eat the king's food, and his driving force was he didn't want to defile himself. He identified that the king's meal would render him defiled in the sight of God. Daniel knew that, and it kept him going. Have you decided in your heart to stay away from sexual sins? Well, you also need to find the force behind that decision so you wouldn't end up compromising it.
2. DISCIPLINE YOURSELF. Yea, you sure must have heard it over and over again, that discipline is very important. But the reality is, majority of us are not disciplined. I would say it's largely not our fault, because man was not made to be disciplined (Adam and Eve can tell you that). Anyways, if you really want to excel at your resolution, you just must be disciplined. You can train yourself to be disciplined starting with your simple everyday activities. For instance, you can train yourself to do the dishes everyday, not to eat after bedtime, to exercise daily, those are ways to accustom your mind to being disciplined. "Don't fail to discipline your children. They won't die if you spank them. Physical discipline may save them from death." Proverbs 23:13-14 NLT.
3. HAVE A TO-DO LIST. If you are not the to-do list kind of person, please become one. Having a list just makes life easier for you, trust me. Your to-do list is like a set goal per time, which eventually leads you to achieving your main goals. Some people are of the opinion that having a to-do list kind of takes the place of the Holy Spirit, and that the Holy Spirit should be the one to direct us per time. Now I'm wondering, how come we have The Holy Bible? Yes, the Holy Spirit directs us, at the same time we also have our Bibles. So, I would say, rather than not having a list at all, let the Holy Spirit order your to-do list, and work with it.
So now that you have read this post, do not let it stand against you on the last day. God ordered me to write it so that you wouldn't have any excuse not to do that which He has given you the Grace to do. "You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you" Philipians 4:13. Identify your driving force, discipline yourself, and write out what you have to do. Shalom.
