What Does God Really Say About Losing Weight? Sisters Get In Here!

What next after meeting Jesus? Really, what is next after meeting Jesus? What is next is that you give up your own will and desire, and instead, live the new live God has put in you from the moment you accepted Christ as your LORD and Savior. A man's will may be to be the richest in the world, but after meeting Jesus, such a man has but to let go of his own will and desire, and then come unto Jesus to know what plans the LORD already has in store for him. Earlier today, I mentioned losing weight and stuff, and so, from the various responses I got, right now, I have been brought to repentance. For some of we ladies, our will is to attain that imaginary perfect figure so to speak, at least for those of us who are plus sized. But, really, what is God's opinion on that subject matter? Is it part of His will for you to be termed "Miss Curvy", or should that still be your goal even after meeting Jesus? I would want us to note that this flesh is merely mortal in nature...

My Coach Is Hitting On Me; Your Opinion?

I have not been consistent with blogging lately, partly due to academic demands, and more is the challenge of getting my device charged. (Electricity supply has been very poor here lately). So, having a flat battery has been the order the day for me and it's been very disheartening and discouraging. Loyal friends, please bear with my inconsistencies, it's gonna last only a while, I trust God. Today, I just want to talk on a situation I'm currently faced with and I'd be seeking your opinions. I don't even know how to begin!  Ok, here. I'm a plus sized, not that plus though... I'm somewhere between size 10 and 12, not as big as you might think, lol. And well, we all know that what is in trend now is being less than a size 10, therefore, I've been working out. Luckily for me, I have a neighbor who is a student and also a trainer. He trains me without charging a dime, and thus has made working out a lot better for me. Now, my challenge is, he's bee...

To All With Unfriendly Parents! XoXo

Today, a friend in Christ met me, she told me a few things I would like to let you know. (For the record, I'm one of those people who do not have friendly dads.)  So, she met me, and told me it was up to me to make my dad into whomever I want him to be. According to her, "how do you expect someone who has not yet found the truth live as though he had found it?" "It doesn't matter how long and hard you pray to God for a change of heart in you dad, if you do not do your part by being friendly to him, I'm afraid you are only gonna keep praying till Christ comes." "Your dad can only change when you require him to change".  Her words got me really sad and disturbed. So I asked, shouldn't a father already be aware of his responsibilities to his child? Shouldn't he naturally be friendly to his child? Or shouldn't he be the one to care and make everything work? But I realized that, the more questions I asked, the sadder I became. Ple...

A Dangerous Game

Last week, a friend of mine was confused about something, and I realized I've also been in that exact situation before, a good number of times even. This kind of situation is one that confuses you, yet you aren't sure what solution to proffer. Ok, enough of the intro, let's begin. Have you ever been taking to someone and all out nowhere, your chat history becomes what you cannot boldly show a third party? What I mean is, you are just mere friends with someone, just friends, no string attached, yet, your chats with this person has gone way beyond being 'just friends'. Do you now get what I'm talking about? Four months ago, I became friends with someone, and we started talking and chatting. But after a little while, our conversation became more intimate than it was platonic, like the 'friendship' so to speak became something else. Below are a few signs to tell you have such a friend. 1. This person knows all of you. This your misery friend knows exa...

How To Control Sleeping In Church

I got a lot of 'LOLs' from friends after I made my previous post. Apparently, I'm not the only person who has been called out for sleeping in church before. This now brings me to the question, 'how can you prevent and stop sleeping in church?'. Of course, no one can cheat nature, but wouldn't you rather you controlled nature, than just let it control you? Below are a few proven practical tips that would juggle you out of sleep while the service is still going on. 1. GET UP: Chances are you are sleeping because you are relaxed, so get up, get a walk, and get awake. 2. DRINK WATER: Water has a way of activating one's senses, (I can't explain that biochemistry). But believe me, when you get yourself hydrated, there's a very possibility that you would stop sleeping (at least for that time). 3. CHEW GUM: Hey, I didn't mean chew gum like chew gum, you know what I'm saying? Your aim is to stay awake and alert, not distracting yourself and othe...

Things You Shouldn't Do In Church

Last week Thursday, I was in the Bible Study in my fellowship, and while the message was being preached, I rested my head on my thigh (bending forwards to rest my head, with my arms as support on my thigh), you get what I mean right? I wasn't exactly sleeping though, but in that position, I appeared to have somewhat gone far away from the Bible Study. Out of nowhere, the Bible Study secretary called me to answer a question! I couldn't even at that first instance comprehend the question, so, I asked him to repeat himself, and guess what? The congregation busted out laughing. I didn't have much of an issue with that, not until the Bible Study secretary had to compare me with Eutychus right in front of everybody, (Oh My God!!!). That was quite unnecessary if you would ask me, you know, I wasn't even sleeping in the first place. Alright, end of story. One thing I (you) should try as much as possible NOT to do is sleep during a sermon, or Bible study, or rather, appear...

A True Life Story

This is a "what next after meeting Jesus" experience by a reader of this blog. It is quite touching, and I do hope you learn from it. Shalom. Greetings to you in the name of our God. My name, where I'm from is of no importance to you right now, what is more important is that name 'Jesus'. Jesus, I met in college, and He is the best thing that ever happened to me. I came from a broken home, grew up in a house where the dad and mum are always quarreling, you know, home for me was a nightmare. After completing high school, I was fortunate to have a college admission almost immediately, so I happily said goodbyes to the home I couldn't call "home". My plan as at then, was to study to be a lawyer, a divorce lawyer precisely, and then after graduating, I would help women who suffer in their marriages get a divorce at a very low and affordable cost. Little did I know that God had an entirely different plan, and I'm actually grateful for it. Barely...

God Doesn't Tempt Anyone

"For every temptation that comes your way, you have what it takes to overcome it!" Hello everybody, I hope we are all doing good? "And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say 'God is tempting me.' God is never tempted to do wrong, and He never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death." James 1:13-15.  Today, I was just reflecting on those things that I have been tempted with, and I realized that the ones I yielded to were those I deliberately chose not to overcome. For example, I was observing a fast one day, and I broke the fast, not because I couldn't control the urge to stay without food, but because I just chose to let the flesh win. Another scenario is when I know fully well that I should read my Bible, but instead, I allowed sleep to win. You know what I'm saying? Temptations d...

IMPORTANT UPDATE!

I am indeed sorry for going AWOL (away without official leave), it wasn't intentional. Although I have no excuse par say, I promise to do better next time. There is going to be a new and better development here on this blog, such that we are now going to work with a timetable. That is, there is going to be a pattern that I'd follow in blogging from now on to at least, a few months time. It goes thus: Sunday: Matters That Arise Monday: Still on The Matter Tuesday: Conclusion on The Matter Wednesday: Love, Relationship and Other Related Stuff Thursday: Any Other Issue Friday: What Next After Meeting Jesus Experiences Saturday: Bible Reading Update. And that would be all for now. Thank you for choosing "What Next After Meeting Jesus", I love you, God bless you. By the way, today's main post is on the way, please stay around.....

Makeup, Makeoveer, and God's Word (2)

Now that we have identified the motive behind our makeup and makeover, I think we can take another step forward from here. A Christian friend of mine (male), said he would never get married to a lady who doesn't wear makeup (lol), "are you joking?"  The general idea of makeup and makeover is to improve one's appearance, so, can we also call any other thing that improves one's appearance makeover? Yes, we can. Makeover is not only restricted to the lipsticks, mascara, eyeshadow and so on, but rather, it includes all the other things that you do to improve your overall appearance.  That brings wearing a perfume, ironing your shirt, polishing your shoe, brushing your teeth, combing your hair into the picture. If you can brush your mouth to improve your appearance, then there should be no problem with you powdering your face. If you also can shave down there to improve your appearance, then you should have no problem with taking care of the eyebrow. I hope you ge...

Makeup, Makeover, and the Word of God

Hello ladies! The reason why you clicked to read this post is because you want to know more on what God is saying concerning makeup or makeover as the case may be. Therefore, I want you to read this with an open mind, not judging or criticizing already, and I trust that the Holy Spirit would minister to you Himself through this post. Makeup: cosmetics applied to the face to improve or change your appearance. Makeover: an overall beauty treatment (involving a person's hair style and cosmetics and clothing) intended to change or improve a person's appearance.  We are clear on what we mean by makeup and makeover right? Some people may classify surgical beauty procedure as makeup which I believe is wrong. Well, that's not what I'm dealing with today, maybe some other time though. So, to what I have to say, makeup in itself is not a sin, just as sex in itself isn't a sin. It is what how we fail to manage its use that has become the bone of contention. The use and d...

3 Guides That Would Save You From Peril

Every now and then, we decide in our minds to do something, I mean like a resolution, yet on the long run, we fail to do those things. Do you know why? "My people perish for lack of knowledge" Hosea 4:6, that is why! These simple three guides if taken seriously, would help us adjust and keep us moving. Continue reading. 1. KNOW YOUR DRIVING FORCE: "But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the King." Daniel 1:8a NLT. Daniel decided not to eat the king's food, and his driving force was he didn't want to defile himself. He identified that the king's meal would render him defiled in the sight of God. Daniel knew that, and it kept him going. Have you decided in your heart to stay away from sexual sins? Well, you also need to find the force behind that decision so you wouldn't end up compromising it. 2. DISCIPLINE YOURSELF. Yea, you sure must have heard it over and over again, that discipline is ver...

The Best Family

Alright everyone, let's take this quick test. If you had the chance to choose your family before you were born, I mean your mom, dad, and siblings, who and who would you have chosen? Just try to answer honestly. For me, I'd like to still have my mom and siblings, and I'd have loved to have a last name like Zukerberg, Dangote, Gates, or Jobs, you know what I'm saying? (Disclaimer: I'm only being honest here, this doesn't mean I'm in love with money!) So, I assume you have also answered that question faithfully, now do you really think that family you would have preferred would have been the best for you? Actually, most times, our thinking faculty doesn't go beyond our present wants, and that often makes us abandon that which is truly needful. Think of it this way, if I had been born into the Gates' family, I'm quite sure I wouldn't be running a blog centered on Jesus. Likewise you, if you had been born into that family of your choice, there...

WHAT'S NEXT AFTER MEETING JESUS?

It's a new year, and I'm starting out by letting us know what exactly is next after meeting Jesus. This article has been written by a dear friend, it's quite long, but it's totally worth it. Read below: WHAT’S NEXT AFTER MEETING JESUS I’ve been summoned as a witness to give my account of what was next after meeting Jesus. I see myself as though standing in the witness box before you all with the solemn promise of telling “the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth”. The following experience has been lifted from my journal sometimes ago. It might be unusually long but please bear with me. I woke up about two or three days ago with this song on my mind “O Happy day”. I picked the book of sacred songs and solo and sang alone in my room the whole hymn. Not too long did I realized that it was another year; that the 1st of July marked the 9th year after giving my life to Christ. I remember how stubborn I could have turned out to be (and the troubles I...

Bible In A Year

It's a new year full of resolutions. One of mine is to dutifully read through the Bible this year. So, I found this website online that has an already made Bible reading plan, and with God, I hope to follow it through. I'm sure some of you would also want to read your Bible through this year too, so let's do this together. Here is the site link: My Bible    I would try by God's Grace to remind us daily of our Bible readings for the day. Hey! This is Day 1 already, so grab your Bible and start reading now!!! Shalom.

Happy 2016 *Hugs n kisses*

2016 welcome.... Happy new year to all my loyal readers. "What Next After Meeting Jesus" loves you, yea you. This is our year of willingness and obedience to God, Amen.
