The Other Lady

Just three days ago, multiple award winning worship leader, Isreal Houghton, announced his marital woes on social media. His marriage of 20 years has come crashing and according to Him, he's sorry it's happened.

What really happened was that he cheated on his wife and they were not able to deal with the "post cheating spree". When I saw the news, my first thought was "what exactly went wrong?" Not that I blame him, but really, a worship leader? I'm sad is an understatement! Anyways, that's life.

But then, the reason why I'm bringing the matter up here is to talk about "the other lady". I mean, Isreal cheated on his wife with "the other lady". So who is that lady? Well, let's just make an assumption here. Now let's say, the other lady is someone close to his ministry, probably a member of the choir, or a friend. Long story short, she got into Isreal, and bang! It happened.

The big question is, "when and where did they cross that line?" It is very important to note that the choir is a ministry the devil really hits at, you know, he was once a worship leader, and so, it is very important for worship leaders to be extra careful.

As a lady in the choir, you are always going to be seen by others, and different people would have several thought on you, but one thought you should try as much not to stir in people is the desire to lay with you. Yea, you really cannot control the minds of people, but you can actually send signals to their minds. These signals are capable of activating several responses and actions, more reason why men are moved by what they see.

In essence, as a christian lady, give in your best to prevent men from falling into that temptation, I tell you, the end thereof is death. You don't even have to be a chorister, the devil can tempt anybody, common, he tempted Jesus too.

Some married men may be going through their mid life crisis, and would much welcome a distraction, please, I beg of you sister, do not be that distraction. Think of his kids even if you do not care about his wife, his kids would never forget what you have done their mom.

All this that I'm saying also applies to me, so do not think I'm a don or something (I've had to deal with a married pastor who wouldn't let me be before, sure, God won!).

Also for the men who are reading this, please, flee every appearance of evil, don't put "the other lady", your wife, your kids, your marriage, your ministry, your relationship with God in jeopardy, please!!! (1Thessalonians 5:17).

Proverbs 6:27-29 "Can a man take fire in his bosom And his clothes not be burned? Or can a man walk on hot coals And his feet not be scorched? So is the one who goes in to his neighbor's wife; Whoever touches her will not go unpunished."

I'm just gonna have to stop here for now; a word is enough for the wise.... Shalom.
