Starting Over
I just want to tell us today about "starting over". Starting something over again is one of the greatest fears of man. We so much worry about what people would say if they see us starting something we had failed again.
Naturally, we are scared of failures, which usually leads us to the fears of starting over again. A lot of things fail in life, but it takes the wise to overcome failures. Hosea 4:6 "My people perish for lack of knowledge."
I'd briefly address the story of Ruth and Naomi to bring out some important points here. (In the Book of Ruth). Naomi lost her husband, lost her two sons, and she was left with her two daughters-in-law, no more, no less. Out of sheer dejection, she decided to go back to her fatherland.
Ruth, on the other hand, lost her husband, had no children, and was left with a dejected mother-in-law (Naomi). Out of fear and shame, she decided to go with Naomi. You know, she must have thought, "how could she have stayed behind when she had nothing? It would have been better if she rather moved along with Naomi to another land."
Long story short, these two women put everything they had been through behind them, and took the bold step of starting again. And guess what? God turned their story around for the better.
Your marriage might have failed, you can still start over again with your spouse. Your career might have been over, you can still go back and start again.
You might have lost a child or more, but sweetie, you can still start over again. Your academics might be putting you in serious jeopardy, you can still start again.
Psalm 55:22 "Give your burdens to the LORD, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall."
Really, there is no harm in starting something over so long God is involved. Naomi started again, Ruth started again, Job started again, even Paul had to start again (from Saul to Paul), you too can. We don't all have to achieve things because the society says we must at a certain age. Let God direct your path, and not what the society expects.
And I pray for you this day, if you are in that jeopardizing situation, God will grant you the strength and grace to start over again. And victory shall be yours in Jesus name, amen. Shalom.
