Top 10 Things That Hinders Hearing God

To continue my last post on "hearing God", here are top ten things that prevent today's generation from hearing God. Check out for what is hindering you, and effect the necessary changes.

 1. Sin "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

 2. Pride "God opposes the proud, and shows favor to the humble" James 4:6

 3. Insincerity "God is Spirit, and those that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth" John 4:24

 4. Hypocrisy "Woe to you, teacher of the law and Pharisees, You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to." Matthew 23:13

 5. Unconfessed sin "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9

 6. Not reading one's Bible "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path" Psalm 119:105

 7. Lies "Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully." Psalm 24

 8. Unfaithfulness "But the wicked will be cut off from the land And the treacherous will be uprooted from it." Proverbs 2:22

 9. Giving in to temptations "Flee every appearances of evil" 1Thessalonians 5:22

10. Idolatry "You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth." Deuteronomy 5:8

 These are just to mention a few. There are so many other things that prevents hearing God. Check out your life today, and make the necessary changes. Shalom

Things You Shouldn't Do In Church

Last week Thursday, I was in the Bible Study in my fellowship, and while the message was being preached, I rested my head on my thigh (bending forwards to rest my head, with my arms as support on my thigh), you get what I mean right? I wasn't exactly sleeping though, but in that position, I appeared to have somewhat gone far away from the Bible Study. Out of nowhere, the Bible Study secretary called me to answer a question! I couldn't even at that first instance comprehend the question, so, I asked him to repeat himself, and guess what? The congregation busted out laughing. I didn't have much of an issue with that, not until the Bible Study secretary had to compare me with Eutychus right in front of everybody, (Oh My God!!!). COMPETITION, is one thing, as mortal beings, we cannot but do. Thanks to Biology, competition is one of the characteristics of living things, so it's not as though it is a sin. But as a Christian, there are some things you ought to know while you are out there competing with others. 1. The aim of every competition is to win, to come out better than every other counterpart. As a matter of fact, some Christians now compete to oppress the losers so to speak. That is bad actually, and is in no way healthy. When you find yourself in a situation where you have to just compete, your aim should be to win, and not to oppress your counterparts. You should be able to be a team with your competitors at any point in time if need be, and not sworn enemies. It is the devil and his own who oppresses, and you are not one of his, are you? 2.
