The Other Lady

Just three days ago, multiple award winning worship leader, Isreal Houghton, announced his marital woes on social media. His marriage of 20 years has come crashing and according to Him, he's sorry it's happened. What really happened was that he cheated on his wife and they were not able to deal with the "post cheating spree". When I saw the news, my first thought was "what exactly went wrong?" Not that I blame him, but really, a worship leader? I'm sad is an understatement! Anyways, that's life. But then, the reason why I'm bringing the matter up here is to talk about "the other lady". I mean, Isreal cheated on his wife with "the other lady". So who is that lady? Well, let's just make an assumption here. Now let's say, the other lady is someone close to his ministry, probably a member of the choir, or a friend. Long story short, she got into Isreal, and bang! It happened. The big question is, "when and wher...

Nightmare of the Embalming Room

"I need air! I cannot stand this place"..... It was in the embalming room..... We were there as part of our course requirement, to learn how to embalm, or at least become familiar with the embalming instruments before the practical examination. A tour by the lab instructor that started off well became a nightmare when we got into the embalming room. As we entered the room, some of my colleagues and I, dashed back out, lol, the smell that greeted us was so gross. But then, what got me thinking was the reason why we couldn't stand the odour of the room, because at least, we have been working on cadavers since our second year of medical studies. We are in a way, already used to the smell and gory sights in the gross anatomy lab. So why then did the embalming room itself offset us? After thinking for a while, I got an answer. It's simply because the smell was way more than what we had previously been exposed to. It's like taking someone who has been used to ta...

How To Make Up For A Missed Quiet Time

So, you have rushed out of the house without praying, talking to God, nor reading your Bible, huh? Well, it ain't over yet until it's over. Here is a list of 7, sort of a "make-up devotion". 1. While on the bus (not driving), silently pray. You don't have to shout, your neighbor doesn't even have to know you are praying, just talk to your Father. 2. On the walkway, sing a few choruses, or better yet, plug in your earphone and get in the Spiritual flow. Emphasis on "walkway", not highway..... 3. At your breaks, you can update your Bible reading schedule. Thankfully, you have a Bible on your mobile device, so don't just eat, read you Bible too. 4. Try as much not to spend any free period of yours doing irrelevant things, say gossiping, surfing the web, or gisting with your colleague. It's already bad enough that you left home without talking to your Heavenly Father, don't make it worse! 5. If you are the type that goes about with ...

Making Out Time For God Out of "No Time"

Largely, it is very easy to "forget" God on a tight and busy day. For instance, at that moment when you have an interview or an examination scheduled for 7:30am, you have woken up late, and your adrenaline is working excessively! Surely the first thing that would be on your mind at that moment wouldn't be God, and neither would it be your devotion, nor quiet time. Even if at all God would be on your mind at that instance, it would in aspiration for His miracles, it would be that you are hoping He would cover up your lapses. How then do one have God's time at such times? Firstly, you need to know that God understands, He knows exactly how you feel at that moment (he knows about that hormone that has made you put Him aside), and He knows that you really wished you could make out time for Him, He understands. Therefore, you should in that instance, not be so hard on yourself, because if you are, there's every chance that day is just going to turn out worse tha...

That Moment You Are Bogged With Advises From People

It's really been a while since I last came here, and I'm as surprised as you are. Quiet a lot of factors have contributed to my inertness here. One of them is the fact that so many people have given me so many advise as to how to run this blog, and I've been bogged by those advises. Not that I'm complaining, in fact I'm grateful, but then, majority of those advise have made me lose my initial enthusiasm. I don't know how to make into words how I really feel right now, but I'd try to make you get the picture. What made me start this blog in the first place was because I needed somewhere I could "read" on some of those conventional things that happen after meeting Jesus. I didn't start with the mindset of lecturing others, or being a high profile preacher, nah! I really wanted a place where I could discuss topics that bothered me, and also help others who might be going through the same, or learn from those who have passed through the sam...

Things You Should Watch Out For This Valentine

Valentine is the season of love, it is a time to share, a time to give and to receive. Valentine may not be in the Bible literally, I tell you Jesus already set us an example by showing us how to love. 1 Peter 2:24 NLT "He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By His wound you are healed." John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." Valentine is not all about lovers or those who are in romantic relationships, as widely misconceived (Confirmed through wikipedia). Valentine is when you give to the needy, when you make someone smile by meeting their needs. However, there has been a widespread Valentine's Day misconception, and below are a few things you should watch out for this Valentine: 1. VALENTINE is Not the Time for Sexual Arousal and Immorality: First of all, you are a chri...
