Top 10 Things That Hinders Hearing God

To continue my last post on "hearing God", here are top ten things that prevent today's generation from hearing God. Check out for what is hindering you, and effect the necessary changes.  1. Sin "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23  2. Pride "God opposes the proud, and shows favor to the humble" James 4:6  3. Insincerity "God is Spirit, and those that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth" John 4:24  4. Hypocrisy "Woe to you, teacher of the law and Pharisees, You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to." Matthew 23:13  5. Unconfessed sin "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9  6. Not reading one's Bible "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path" Psalm...

How To Hear From God; Practical Steps

Every now and then, people ask me, "how can I know God's will?", "How do I hear from God?". Quite a number of Christians do not know or hear the voice of God, yet God is always speaking. To help us better know how to hear from God, I have by the Holy Spirit, come up with these few practical steps. Actually, these steps are how I myself came about hearing from God, so there may be variations from person to person. But then, these are the basics.  Acts 2:17 "In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams." 1. GIVE YOUR LIFE TO CHRIST. Ok, I believe, that for you to be on this blog right now, you have an idea who Jesus is right? We give our life to Christ by turning away from our sinful life and facing Jesus. Romans 10:10. Believe that Jesus came and died for your sins and He rose again, therefore giving you victory over death. ...

God, Me, and Mr M. A must read!!!

1 Samuel 16:17 "But the Lord said unto Samuel, "Look not on his countenance or on the height of his stature, because I have refused him; for the Lord seeth not as man seeth. For man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."" This week, I just want to tell you more about trusting God's decision for you. Two weeks ago, I wrote a piece on when God gives you a no for an answer. I will tell us exactly what happened, I mean why I wrote that post in the first place. There is this person, I mean, a guy that sought to engage me. You know, he told me he loved me and stuff. As God's child, I told God what had happened. I was sincere in my approach, I made Him know that I liked that person, and that left for me, I wouldn't mind being his "Mrs". But as God would have His way, He told me, "NO, that man is not your man." Reluctantly and very much sadly, I agreed with God. Now, fast forward to a few days ago, someth...

Starting Over

I just want to tell us today about "starting over". Starting something over again is one of the greatest fears of man. We so much worry about what people would say if they see us starting something we had failed again. Naturally, we are scared of failures, which usually leads us to the fears of starting over again. A lot of things fail in life, but it takes the wise to overcome failures. Hosea 4:6 "My people perish for lack of knowledge." I'd briefly address the story of Ruth and Naomi to bring out some important points here. (In the Book of Ruth). Naomi lost her husband, lost her two sons, and she was left with her two daughters-in-law, no more, no less. Out of sheer dejection, she decided to go back to her fatherland. Ruth, on the other hand, lost her husband, had no children, and was left with a dejected mother-in-law (Naomi). Out of fear and shame, she decided to go with Naomi. You know, she must have thought, "how could she have stayed behind whe...
