What Is Your Name?

A name is a word or set of words by which a person or thing is known, addressed, or referred to.

 Hello children of God! It's really been a while in here, and I welcome us all back on board.

Every one of us was christened and given a name at some point during our births. However, there is a name that God has given to each of us, and only those who have a close walk with God have discovered theirs. Do you know what God calls you?

 "But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Isreal, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine." Isaiah 43:1

The thing is, God has a name He for every one He has redeemed and those that are His. You might think, "is it really necessary that I know what God calls me?" Well, yeah, you need to know what God calls you. So how can you discover that name?

1. Firstly, you need to know God. Common, if you do not know God, how do you intend knowing what He calls you? There is need for you to know who God is, and that is by, studying and meditating on His word, going on retreats, having fellowships with other believers, and getting to a closer walk with Him. Joshua 1:8.

2. Pray to Him, ask Him for the name He calls you, and you shall receive (Matthew 7:7). For me, I earnestly asked Him in prayers, and the name He calls me is "His mouthpiece". I'm God's mouthpiece, who are you?

God called Abraham, "Father of many nations" (Genesis 12). David, "a man after God's own heart". Jesus, "His Son in whom He is well pleased". Jesus told the disciples, " I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn't confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me." John 15:15 NLT.

So, what next after knowing the name God calls you? What next is for you to live up to that name. You cannot continue to go back into sin when God calls you His son. You cannot be God's ambassador, yet not take Him to the streets. Your name is your identity. You are called a child of God, let your identity be that of a child of God.

"So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers, does not belong to God." 1John 3:10 NLT.

May God help us to live out that name He calls us in Jesus Name. Shalom

Things You Shouldn't Do In Church

Last week Thursday, I was in the Bible Study in my fellowship, and while the message was being preached, I rested my head on my thigh (bending forwards to rest my head, with my arms as support on my thigh), you get what I mean right? COMPETITION, is one thing, as mortal beings, we cannot but do. Thanks to Biology, competition is one of the characteristics of living things, so it's not as though it is a sin. But as a Christian, there are some things you ought to know while you are out there competing with others. 1. The aim of every competition is to win, to come out better than every other counterpart. As a matter of fact, some Christians now compete to oppress the losers so to speak. That is bad actually, and is in no way healthy. When you find yourself in a situation where you have to just compete, your aim should be to win, and not to oppress your counterparts.
