Balancing Out With The World

These past months I've been fighting a battle centered on living with unbelievers.
Colossians 4:6 NLT "Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone."

Actually, it all started when I started to live off campus. I must tell you, the world is seriously Antichrist, like nothing in the world favors one's walk with God. For example, where I live, people talk sexual without decency. I don't even know how to explain myself, as in, for every statement anyone here makes, there's a sexual interpretation to it. Initially, I used to feel so out of place, but later on, I became accustomed, kind of like it doesn't bother me that much anymore (which of course shouldn't be).

Another example that really shook me is that of a neighbor that I was supposedly "dating". What actually happened was that, we became friends by virtue of my niceness. And before I knew it, we were tagged a "couple". That was a problem for me because, you know, how can I be a couple with an unbeliever? Why not that I converted people to Christ, or that I led a revival in the midst of sinners? I felt really beaten down to be sincere. And as though that were not enough, pulling out of the so called "friendship" (at least drawing a well defined line) became a nightmare. It turned out that really, we were that "couple".
2 Corinthians 6:14 NIV "Do not be tolerated together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common. Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"

Emotions had already crept in unawares, I won't call it love though. Anyways, long story short, getting myself out of the mess was a battle I must confess, eventually I did.

The moral of my story is:
The world is not friendly with Christians. They know that you have something greater that they do not possess, and so, they find every means to frustrate you out of the Jesus you have. If anything, it indicates to me that of a truth, having Jesus in one's life is a big deal to the world. Are we making it a big deal for ourself? It's high time we started to exalt Jesus more in our lives, because if He isn't worth it the devil won't be after us this much. Please make Jesus your big deal, identify unhealthy friendships and quit them before they actually quit you!

As a reminder, I hope you're doing well with your goals for 2017?

I pray for help and wisdom from above for everyone of us having a difficult time balancing out with the world in Jesus name.
Shalom.
