God, the Hire Assassin? Or God the Saviour?

I was at a fellowship program where the prayer leader asked us, the congregation, to pray death by fire, hail, and brimstone, against those people who do not want us to succeed in life. These past few months, I have been very analytical about some kind of prayer points. For example, when I hear someone ask me to start to pray against someone in my father's lineage who doesn't want me to prosper, I get wary of such prayer points. I stand to be corrected though, but I'm of the school of the Bible that says I am hid with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). According to the Bible, I also know that I wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, and spiritual wickedness in high places. In other words, the devil and his cohorts (Ephesians 6:12). The devil is my enemy, not man. Let's see it this way. Judas betrayed Jesus and he seemed like the enemy.
