What Next After Meeting Jesus

Pledge: a solemn promise or undertaking (Google Dictionary). While in elementary and secondary school, we used to recite the national anthem and national pledge every morning at our assembly. Those times, I didn't quite understand the reason for it, but now I do. Presently, the national pledge is one of those things I learned in basic school and would never forget. For the most I've seen, a pledge stays in the subconscious, and not only that, it in a way, shapes the mind and refines the heart. For instance, reciting the Nigerian pledge from childhood has in a way reinforced my loyalty to Nigeria. Bringing this lesson into our relationship with God, I really do not see anything bad in composing a pledge that would reinforce ones loyalty to God. First of all, one of the important choices one would have to make after meeting Jesus is the choice of a marriage partner (if single). Your spouse can make or mar you. You can either choose to marry someone with whom you can attend to Spiritual matters, or marry someone that is just indifferent. Our choices really matter greatly because, our partners are indirectly going to determine our continuity with God.  For instance, if a young Christian man gets hooked up with a lady who is not a child of God, the young man's relationship with God is definitely going to be at stake, and vice versa. Although, there are rare cases, like the Prophet Hosea whom God told to marry a prostitute. But the truth remains, "being unequally yoked with unbelievers is not God's way".
