What Next After God Says "NO"?

Most times we get "yes" responses from God, and we are excited about it. Some other times, we get a "wait" response, we take a chill pill, and still feel good. But at some very crucial moments, we receive a fully-blown capital "NO", Ouch! NOW WHAT NEXT AFTER GOD SAYS NO? Huh? Lately, I've been getting series of "yes-wait" responses from God, and I've been like, "Yea, God, I don't mind, I'd wait. Thank you." Not bad right? But just recently, I got a really saddening no, and I didn't handle it quite well. Just so you would learn how to handle a "NO", or better prepare oneself for it, I have by the Holy Spirit come up with this list to help better the moment. 1. Dearie, God had made the best decision in that situation for you. Anything else would have been brutal for you. He knows better than you do, and He made a wholesome choice for you. "Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, a...

5 Pointers of Idolatry

IDOLATRY, this was the one sin the children of Israel kept on committing, generation after generation. And it was this same sin that made God turn His back on them. The modern day idolatry is not the typical bowing down of heads to gods, but rather, it is anything that we exalt above the name of Jesus, even right from our minds. While we may be confident we have no idols, below are 5 pointers of idolatry we might be unaware of.  1. AS A CHRISTIAN, WHEN YOU AWAKE IN THE MORNING, WHERE IS THE FIRST PLACE YOU GO? Into whose presence do you firstly visit? Into your inbox SMS, twitter, Instagram, Facebook? The Psalmist says, "My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up." Psalm 5:3... Does the LORD hear your voice right after you have checked all you notifications? If yes, then I'm afraid you do have an idol.  2. WHAT WAGES WAR WITHIN YOU? Do you have to always battle with doing or not doing something...

Dear Singles of God,

The unbelievable happened to me! And right now, I am still in deep shock. Last night, out of the blues, my mom called me to ask, "You are no longer a kid, you are 20. Tell me, who is that person you want to marry?" What? At that instant I felt like I was going to disappear and appear in planet Mars. Some of you might be wondering, "what's the big deal in that?". Well, my mom and I don't have the kind of relationship where we talk about relationships, lol. Hence, the shock. However, at that instant, I understood what people meant when they talked pressure from parents to get married. Really, that pressure is real. But then, I am here to tell you of something that is much more valuable than the pressure of getting married. "The Will of God" Truth be told, a twenty something year old lady should begin to have a Mr Who. However, there is what we call "the will of God". The will of God supersedes that of your parents', it superse...

Get in, Let's Give Thanks

O GIVE thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.  O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever. The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever. The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever. And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever. With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever. And made Israel to pas...

Walking or Just Working?

We often confuse "working" for God with "walking" with him. You may work for someone you do not know, but do you think it is possible to walk with a total stranger? Amos 3:3 "Can two walk together except they be agreed?" Some of us attend bible study weekly, prayer meetings, clean the church, join the evangelism team, sing in the choir, act in drama, teach in Bible study, and so on. You know, all these are works. There is still the real thing that has been left out, that is, walking with God. God has called us first to walk with Him, to conform unto the image of Christ. Church activities are only secondary to our walk with the Father. Now, how do you walk with God? 1. It is by committing your life unto His hands, and living the life He has given to you through Christ. Galatians 2:20 "My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, wh...
