The "My Pastor Said" Christian
I was at the movies on a cool breezy evening, somewhere in Kwara State Nigeria. A young lady who appeared to be in her mid twenties approached me. I wasn't exactly looking like a Pastor, but from her demeanor, it seemed she needed to speak to a "Man of God". She said, "I'm sorry to disturb you, but I just want to know, is it a sin to come to the cinema? Because my Pastor said the cinema is worldy and we shouldn't do what the world is doing." Do you have a personal conviction about what you do or do you just play along with what everybody believe? As a believer, do you have a personal reason for doing what you do or is it just because an higher authority has mandated you to? Many a christian when asked why they do whatever, can hardly give a personal reason why. They cannot give a definite answer simply because, they do not have the knowledge of what they are doing.
